To make long distance calls you will need a phone card which you can buy at most any store. Most folks have cell phones and use that.

When making local calls you need to dial the long number with the area code but do not dial 1 and it is not long distance.

Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, etc east valley are all 480. Phoenix etc west are 602.

Harlan Lives just west five houses at 1928 E. Laguna and feel free to stop by. His home number is 480 838-6955. Due to time zones, differences he is used to getting phone calls all hours so call anytime.

Harlan's cell phone, long distance from Arizona, is 605 376-4125. Works when he is in Arizona or out of town, but Harlan does not pick up voice mail so call back if no answer, do not leave voice mail on this one.

This 605 number is so Harlan's midwest employees and customers in the midwest can call him free of charge.

Missy, at the midwest business office is in business hours midwest time, at 1 800 38 TRADE.

She handles all bookings, finances etc

To find Harlan toll free or get information call 1 800 38 TRADE and whoever is on duty will have Harlan call you back.

That number is manned 8 am seven days and til 10 midwest time. midnight Friday and Saturday, midwest time.

LIGHT SWITCHES
The light switch in the washing machine room on west wall turns on Patio Light.

It is mercury vapor and takes five minutes to get to full brightness.

The underwater pool light....(kind of neat) is way over in the NE pool corner with the filter system etc. It is the bottom right switch.

POOL INFORMATION
You are welcome to use the pool net to fish out leaves or anything that blows in etc. The pool vac is set to run early mornings. To shut if off so does not run when you want to use the pool, open left timer and flip timer switch tab to off direction, (Box on wall corner near Barbeque next to back gate.)

POOL SERVICE GUY
The pool guy comes around once a week, usually Friday..... Please turn on the water hose an hour or two weekly or better so pool water level does not get low from evaporation.

The Pool cleaner vac and the skimmer system can not work if water in pool drops. The pool guy is not there long enough to keep water level up by adding some so he leaves that to you.

Please keep the pool gate closed when not in use so if children wonder in yard they can not get into pool area.

HIGH DEFINITION TV
The TV is high Definition and works on both antenna broadcast TV where high definition is, and on basic cable channels.

INTERNET
There is WI FI and should work thru out the home on your lap top etc..

There is no password on the PC, just go on past it. It is high speed cable internet service.

GARBAGE
Ordinary garbage is bagged and goes in the alley very large container down the alley to the left. Three homes container.

Paper and plastic, no bags, metal cans and glass go in the front blue container called recyclable and gets put on front side walk curb Sunday night.

BARBEQUE
This is connected to natural gas. Turn on and light. Be sure and turn off when done.

COUCH MAKES INTO BED
Extra pillows, blankets etc should be in a closet. If need anything contact Harlan.

HIGH CHAIRS, CRIBS, BICYCLES ETC
We try to leave two bikes in each home but they get moved around so if you specifically need bikes be sure and request how many. We usually can furnish up to six. We have roll away beds, extra fold up foam mattresses you can throw on floor etc available so be sure and let us know if have special needs. We do not charge extra if we have them.

STORES
The house is on Laguna which runs east west one block south of Southern. Go east a half block to Country Club way, north a half block to Southern and there is Convenience store.

Go west on Southern Two blocks to the major intersection of McClintock.

There you will find Bashas Big Grocery chain store supermarket in the NE corner.
Blockbuster Video and many other specialty stores.

Nw corner is another 15 stores including a Sunshine Market, interesting more health food type grocery. Also bank and many restaurants.

SW corner is Walgreen Drug and ice cream store etc

SE corner about ten more stores, bank etc and restaurants such as Boston Market where you can buy prepared take home meals.

FREEWAYS
Go east on Southern a few blocks to the 101 freeway.. North takes you to Scottsdale and Phoenix and the airport etc South takes you to Chandler etc. Do not get on it to go to Mesa or east because it is too close to 60 east west freeway and there is no on ramp.

You can go east on Southern and go south on major streets such as Alma School and get on 60 Freeway east. or just drive into Mesa on the streets going east.

The other option is to go to McClintock South to freeway east west 60 about four blocks and that will take you west to Phoenix, Tucson or east to Mesa etc.

OUR FAVORITE TIPS
We wont try to tell you what to see, but here are where we always take visitors from the midwest while here and this might be helpful.

South Mountain, overlooks the whole valley..go to Phoenix and go south on Central Ave. Get off freeway 60 at seventh street-Central exit. Stay on it, will take you to largest city park in US. Mountain top. FREE. Allow two or three hours. Freeway will be very crowded coming back after 4 pm or going there early am before 10.

Desert Botanical Gardens, Scottsdale just across border...has great walk thru of two hours if do all of it...has great desert vegetation. There is a charge. Go north on the 101 get off at McDowell and go west turn left on Galvin Park way. It is the border of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Also goes to the Zoo and hole in the Rock park, small mountain with a hole in kids like to go up and walk thru the hole.

Organ Stop Pizza. This is a pizza store that has one of the worlds largest organ set ups. Starts music at 5. No admission just buy pizza or salad. Get their early for best seats. Plays music til 9. Most midwest people go home and tell everyone about organ stop so you might like it too...different experience and inexpensive since you may go out for pizza anyway.

Go on 60 freeway east, get off at Stapley. Go north to Southern. Turn back west on Southern. Is on South Side short distance west of intersection.

Favorite Half day trip is east toward Globe. Boyce Thompson Aboreteum.

Also you can do Grand Canyon up and back in long day. Also good Day trip to Sedona, Jerome etc. Also good day trip to Tucson etc. Feel free to call Harlan and discuss any options.

ON LEAVING
Be sure and leave the Garage door opener on the table when you leave along with the front door key or keys. Just turn the latch and shut the door to lock. Be sure and take your cell phone charger with you, many forget and leave those.

Our normal check out time is 10 am. You can check availability calendar on net site and if no one scheduled in same day you are welcome to check out late but need to notify Missy so cleaning lady knows schedule.

If you leave anything call Missy as soon as you discover it.

DEPOSIT
When the cleaning lady, tells Missy everything is okay and nothing missing, Missy will take the credit card hold off that since she usually uses that system as a deposit.
